仮定法を時間軸で、現在・過去・過去完了でまとめました。

過去と過去完了にて、

She said that

she arrived at the station.　だとsaidとarrivedは同時、

She said that

she had arrived at the station.　だとsaidはhave arrivedの後、

になります。

英語ニュースで、この使い分けは頻繁にあり、時間軸で整理すると、紙芝居の様なストーリーが展開します。

話の順序(before/after)は、英語表現において大事なので、最初から意識して使い分けましょう！
